So, yeah. The weird thing about this is that Wesley just the other day accused me of being a succubus! How…confusing.

So, Wes and I were talking earlier. Apparently, tech support at Micro$oft is really good at screaming at their customers. See, he works at this place that supports credit card processing terminals. Sometimes people have to call their internet provider (many times this is AOL) sometimes apparently there are computer issues and they have to call the evil, evil M$. Not sure how that works since he's generally working on terminals, but apparently there are also customers who have information stored on computers as well. I dunno. Again, it generally just confuses me.

The point of the story is this. Micro$oft support gets to yell at their customers! I want that job! Oh how fun it would be to just yell. Actually, I decided it'd be really funny for *us* to call Micro$oft for support so they could yell at us too. A fun Saturday afternoon event. Micro$oft, help me! I've lost my start button! I downloaded this…program…this file share-y, music player, web browser thingy, mail reader, whatsit….called….hmmm….Liiiiinoooox? Yes. Linooox. And now everything is different! I don't understand! Where's my Start? And my AOL? I'm so confused! Help! Yeah, maybe it's just me…but I think it'd be hella funny.

Then again, I also decided a couple months ago when I Wes was having issues getting Gentoo Linux to install on my machine that it'd be really funny to call AOL for support. For just because. Which, for reals it was having some crazy assed errors. Couldn't compile java after downloading it from portage. Actually, I think it couldn't even grab it from portage…don't quite remember. Anywho, at this point, I had a very very basic system…didn't even have a boot loader yet. Didn't even have enough installed to use a nice text browser like Lynx. So, he had to use this app called Get to go to Sun's website to download a java compiler. Well, Sun's website doesn't like to help you….it's set up to just give the links after filling out a form. No single hyperlink for a download. We had to go to another computer, download the bitch, compile it, upload it to one of the webservers, then download it on my machine. The funniest thing of all was during the search for the compiler, there was a section on Sun's site that asked if you needed help..and to just “click here.” Of course, it was still all a form, and so we couldn't actually click on anything without a GUI and all, so it was all useless. Just made you feel like you had hit a wall…. Anyways, yeah. Never got Gentoo to install all the way due to some ethernet issues, but I have a copy of Mandrake on it now. Not sure how this turned into a post about my operating system past, but..whatever.

I guess the point of the story is that I really want to call Micro$oft support just to see what they'd say. And I'd totally pay for tech support if they yelled at me. It'd be a jolly good time.
