My friend Justin captured the incredible humping rabbit on film. Well, it's a little more than just a humping rabbit. He's humping a feather duster then EATING his own cum off of it afterwards. Man. Bunnies can be so cool sometimes.

I hate my family. My parents are broke, from what I understand. Not that this is anything new. My brother is back in Mexico, and has been for like 2 weeks or so. I guess right before I left for Austin, he went back out. They've sent him money once, but have nothing else. Like, little money for food…no money for my mom's pills…nothing. And, my aunt is demanding repayment for the collect calls she accepted from his last trip. Apparently it's about 90 bucks on the one phonebill. Of course, they don't have it. She made the choice to get involved…because she likes the drama. Accepted multiple calls in the same day, etc. Sigh.

Anyway, Jeremy just called me. I'm guessing he wants me to send money now. (I didn't answer the phone) Right after he called, my mom called. (Didn't answer the phone then, either) I'm so fucking sick of this. I'm not their damn cash cow. However, if I don't do whatever he's bugging for…my mom is going to kill herself trying to do it. I don't understand why she can't give this up. She doesn't have a job anymore. They're broke because of him. And now I'm expected to go down the same path.

Do I have to stop answering my phone again? Or just stop speaking to my family altogether?

The other day, my FAVORITE, best-ever peacock-blue sunglasses broke. When I tried to put them on, apparently a screw had fallen out and the one earpiece was dangling. Of course, they were in my car so I lost one of the pieces to put them back together. Since then, the other screw has fallen out and they are completely unable to be salvaged. I am so sad. They were the best blue Walgreen sunglasses ever. How am I ever going to find another pair that matches not only my laptop bag but also my Lochness Imposter shirt?? I even have nailpolish that matches!

While I was in Austin, I was totally hit on by a homeless guy. I am the hottest thing, ever. Seriously. My life? Damn surreal.

So, I just unpacked from Austin…and noticed that my luggage is fucked, and I'm mad. It was fine when I checked it in Austin, but apparently someone decided to rip the gold Oscar de la Renta logo off of my suitcase. Along with cutting the leather where it was attached. Grrr. Guess I should just give up on the whole “having nice things” idea. My brother already stole one piece of the luggage and left it in Mexico a couple years ago. Sigh. Stupid people. I hate them all.

If anyone is interested, the SXSW Interactive 2006 group photo pool is here. I didn't take many pictures, unfortunately. Well, actually…I took pictures but apparently my camera ate them. Or something. Anyways, everything of mine has been linked to that group, and most of the other pictures are more fun than mine.

Also, this is silly. Snakes! On a Plane!

Perhaps I'm paranoid (don't laugh) but I swear, for the duration of the panel on The New Startup Cultures at SXSW, Ben Brown totally judged me. I'd be all sitting there…listening and shit. Ok, wait. I'd be all sitting there, playing on my iBook cause it was kinda boring…and I'd look up at the panelists. And every damn time I looked at him, he was staring at me…in a “I silently judge you” kind of way. And when the creepy eye contact thing would happen…he'd quick look away. Three minutes later? The same damn thing. For a freaking hour! Stupid Ben Brown, “Internet Rockstar.”

Wanna know what's awesome? Coming home to no cable…among other things. So! Much! Fun! Especially since I kept my half of the bill up to date. Turns out that it was cut off on Tuesday, and Wes' sister never bothered to let us know…despite a notice left on Monday…and Tuesday. Mind you, I had the money to cover it, so I wouldn't have had to deal with it last night. Luckily, though…someone has an open network here now, and I can just barely catch their signal sometimes. Guess it's better than nothing while I wait for ours to get turned back on.

Tomorrow, I'm going to take the iBook to the Genius bar at the Apple Store to see if they can fix the damn Keychain Access crap that's been broken for a month. After an update to something…passwords stopped being stored in Keychain Access…and I can't figure out why. I've repaired Keychain Access, I've repaired disk permissions…I've uhm…done something else. And I just don't know enough about Macs to figure out what is causing this. And other than what I've already done, I can't find anything on the intarweb on how to fix this. Stupid Keychains.

Austin really is all about the music. We're sitting in the airport, eating lunch…killing time before out flight. And there's a chick playing at this bar. And, apparently in the middle of the airport, there's a stage where musicians play every day. It's called “Music in the Air” I think. They have different bands or individuals there scheduled for two hours every day.

Downtown, on 6th street…every single bar or restaurant has live music at some point. It's completely surreal, and so damn awesome.

I'm really, really sad that I'm not getting to stay for the music portion of SXSW. Yesterday, just walking to eat…there were bands playing in parking lots, you could hear people playing in the hotel…everywhere you turn is more music. And, just like on Friday, Austin exploded with people in about an hour. A lot of people had left on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning after the Interactive portion was over. Then, all of a sudden, mass people everywhere again – with even more music than before. it's great.

I'll write more about my time here..but for now I just wanted to say that Austin really is all about the music.

What happens when you put two geeks, a Roomba, some green fabric and SXSW together?

Frogger rumba on 6th Street!
